Still portraits of humans is often a very popular genre for photography, and can be a fun exercise. People can look the part when photographed in a beauty portrait style, or a romantic portrait style. A beauty, and romantic portrait technique would be to make sure your subjects are strongly frontlit with the use of flashgun, or desk lamp if you haven’t got a Spotlight. Also be sure to utilise changing of the angle. Have the subjects looking off at a different angle to the torso. And for the romantic shots, have them holding their arms around each other, or sharing a kiss. If you have a great shot, don’t forget you can digitally convert it to black and white, and increase the brightness and slowly increase the orange and the black and white mix. Delight in the face and I’ll give it a nice glow. Remember your subject is a human, so they can be flexible and work around you as well.
